CAF Confederation Cup contenders and Aiteo Cup Champions, Akwa United will officially unveil its newly signed players for the 2018 Football League season on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The Promise Keepers have recruited top quality players from other clubs within the country and they have been training with the team since the close of last season.
The new players will be officially presented to the media, fans and the public during the unveiling ceremony scheduled for 2pm and it will be followed by an exhibition match.
The Promise Keepers will be contesting in three competitions this year; The CAF Confederation Cup, NPFL and the Aiteo Cup.
In a related development, the Management of the team have concluded plans for a Thanksgiving and Dedication service this weekend.
According to the Chairman of the club, Elder Paul Bassey, “the thanksgiving and dedication service is our way of showing appreciation to God for the success of last season and to also dedicate the new season to God in prayer.
“God was with us last season; we finished fourth in the league for the first time in our history and also won the Aiteo Cup.
“These are what we couldn’t have achieved on our own, but God made it possible for us, so it is necessary for us to thank God for what he has done and also to hand over the 2018 season to Him in prayer”.
The thanksgiving and dedication service will take place at the Apostolic Church Ukana Onuk Area Headquarters, Ikot Ekpene Field, Essien Udim Local Government Area on Sunday January .
